"And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;"
It takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen. ~"Homer Simpson," from the television show The Simpsons
Pray for rulers and for all who have authority so that we can
have quiet and peaceful lives full of worship and respect for God.
(1 Timothy 2:2 NCV)
I do not agree with everything that our leaders in Washington D.C. do. I have opinions as to what should be done and how it should be done. It is not natural for me to pray for our President and Leaders in Congress when so much is going wrong. In spite of this I need to pray daily not only for our country but for the leaders that are in charge. Not because I agree or disagree with their policy but because I am called to do so. I need to pray for their wisdom and for Godly advisors to assist them is what must be very difficult decisions. I need to pray for their safety and for the safety of their families and associates.
I need to pray daily.
Technology is both wonderful and horrible. With every advantage there is always a dangerous possibility. The internet is no exception.

Information is flowing around the world at a rate never seen before. Ministries are able to get the word out in ways never before seen in history. The bible is available as never before and encouragement is just a click away.
But there is another side.
Pornography accounts for a great percentage of total internet traffic. The internet certainly did not cause this but it is certainly allowing this to happen. The internet is a tool that can be used for wonderful good or for great evil. This is not a new issue for society to face. The printing press did not cause Playboy magazine to be published but is allowed it to be.
Pray for the safe use of technology in your life.
“Behind Calvary is the throne of heaven. And if we have seen God acting at the Cross with power and great glory, if to that conquering grace we have yielded up our souls in absolute, irrevocable commitment, then every suffering is transmuted, every despair is pierced through with hope; and bright against the dark background of the menace of the mystery of evil, we see the glory of the Kingdom that is to be.”
- James. S. Stewart, A Faith to Proclaim (Vancouver, BC; Regent College Publishing, 2002), 102
All of us have had the experience of a sudden joy that came when nothing in the world had forewarned us of its coming – a joy so thrilling that if it was born of misery we remembered even the misery with tenderness. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Wind, Sand and Stars, 1939, translated from French by Lewis Galantière
The most powerful laser in the world, the Nova laser at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, CA, USA, generates a pulse of energy equal to 100,000,000,000,000 watts of power for .000000001 second to a target the size of a grain of sand.
Your mind is not old, keep developing it.
Your humor is not over, keep enjoying it.
Your strength is not gone, keep using it.
Your opportunities have not vanished, keep pursuing them.
God is not dead, keep seeking Him.
I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive. Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note – torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one. ~Henry Ward Beecher
